Day 10 — Daily Mission: Living Stone, Chosen People

1Pe 2:4-8 (WEB) To whom coming, as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, 5 you also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 6 For it is contained in scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, elect, precious; and he who believes on him shall not be confounded. 7 To you therefore who believe he is precious; but to those who are disobedient, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is made the head of the corner, 8 and a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense; they stumble at the word, being disobedient; whereunto also they were appointed.

Who: Believers as God’s spiritual house.
What: Christ is the living cornerstone; we are living stones built into a holy priesthood.
Where: In the life of the church and in personal identity.
Why: Justification places us in Christ; sanctification builds us into community; glorification completes the temple.
When: When rejection or insecurity tempts you to doubt your place.

Prayer: Jesus, be my cornerstone. Build me into Your house and keep me from causing others to stumble. Amen.
