1Pe 2:13-17 (WEB) Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake, whether to the king as supreme, 14 or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do well. 15 For so is the will of God, that by well doing you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: 16 as free, and not using your liberty for a cloak of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. 17 Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.

What: Submit for conscience’s sake, honor all people, love the brotherhood.
Where: In civic life and public witness.
Why: Sanctification shows in civic faithfulness; justification frees us from fear of men.
When: When tempted to react with anger or lawlessness.
Prayer: Lord, give me a respectful and faithful spirit toward authorities. Help me honor You in civic life and love Your people well. Amen.
