1Pe 1:10-12 (WEB) Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come to you, 11 searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that should follow; 12 to whom it was revealed that not to themselves, but to us they did minister the things which are now reported to you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.
Who: The prophets of old and those who hear the gospel now.
What: The prophets longed to know the timing and scope of Christ’s work; the gospel reveals its fulfillment.
Where: Across redemptive history, from promise to fulfillment.
Why: Justification is the fulfillment of prophetic hope; sanctification flows from living in revealed truth.
When: When Scripture feels distant or merely historical.
Prayer: Thank You, Lord, for the prophets who pointed to Christ. Open my heart to live by the gospel’s truth today. Amen.
