Salvation Tense: Sanctification (Present Tense)
2 Peter 1:7 — “And in godliness brotherly affection; and in brotherly affection, love.”

WHO: The maturing believer. After building the inner virtues (Days 5–6), the focus now turns outward — toward others.
WHAT: Brotherly affection (philadelphia — love for fellow believers, family-like bond) and love (agape — unconditional, sacrificial love for all). The ladder of virtue that began with faith now reaches its summit in love. This is the progression of sanctification: God builds character from the inside out. You cannot truly love others until you have self-control, patience, and godliness operating within you. Love is not sentiment — it is the fruit of a disciplined, Spirit-controlled life.
WHERE: In your relationships — with family, with fellow believers, with coworkers, with strangers, even with enemies.
WHEN: Today and every day. Love is the ongoing mark of the sanctified life. It never graduates; it only deepens.
WHY: Because Jesus said the greatest commandments are to love God and love your neighbor (Matthew 22:37–39). All of the law and the prophets hang on love. Peter’s virtue ladder leads to the same summit. Without love, all the other virtues are incomplete. Love is the evidence that sanctification is progressing.

Lord Jesus, You are the definition of love. You laid down Your life for me while I was still a sinner. Now fill me with brotherly affection for my fellow believers and agape love for everyone I encounter today. Let love be the crown of every virtue You are building in me. Help me to love not in word only, but in deed and truth. Amen.

Challenge 2: Do one kind act for someone who cannot repay you — a stranger, an overlooked person, someone difficult to love. Practice agape.
